ACRP and CenterWatch form strategic collaboration to benefit clinical research

CenterWatch Staff

The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) has established an official collaboration with CenterWatch that aims to provide the robust offerings developed by CenterWatch to ACRP members starting in early 2014 and establishes a relationship between the two organizations to begin a series of cooperative projects to benefit the clinical research enterprise.

The agreement will give ACRP members affordable access to CenterWatch publications, training guides, white papers, career tools, the popular “Drugs in Clinical Trials Database” and the CenterWatch Site and Vendor Directories.  CenterWatch will host ACRP white papers on its web site and include ACRP certification as a demographic in its “Research Center Profiles.”  ACRP and CenterWatch also will work together to co-develop new resources to address emerging issues in clinical research and educate clinical research professionals.

“CenterWatch and ACRP share a passion for supporting and fostering the critical work being performed by all members of the clinical research team—patients included—which makes this collaboration ideal,” said Ken Getz, founder and owner of CenterWatch and director of sponsored research programs at the Center for the Study of Drug Development at the Tufts University School of Medicine. “Collaborative efforts like these are needed to facilitate change and propel the profession forward. I’m excited about the potential this relationship presents to make a significant positive impact.”

For CenterWatch, the new collaboration presents a significant increase in market influence. ACRP’s extensive global membership is an ideal audience for the resources and tools it has developed

“ACRP is excited to align with an organization like CenterWatch, which has for years been considered the gold standard for market intelligence and professional resources in clinical research,” said ACRP executive director James D. Thomasell, CPA. “It’s an outstanding opportunity for the Association, as landmark collaborations like this invigorate the momentum of the organization and the staff, members and volunteers who are so driven to make the ACRP mission of providing ‘global leadership to promote integrity and excellence for the clinical research profession’ a reality.”

The resources generated by CenterWatch will be made available to ACRP members before the end of the calendar year through developed portals on each organization’s web site.

Based in Alexandria, Va., and founded in 1976, the nonprofit ACRP has a worldwide membership of research professionals dedicated to the safe and ethical conduct of clinical trials across the globe for new drugs, medical devices, and therapies in volunteer human subjects.

Since 1994, CenterWatch has been a recognized global leader in providing clinical trials information to a broad and influential spectrum of clinical research professionals ranging from top sponsors and CROs to research sites and niche providers, as well as an engaged population of patients interested in clinical research and volunteering.
