CenterWatch Staff

Ampio Pharmaceuticals has announced that its subsidiary, biotechnology company Luoxis, has entered into research agreements with Western Galilee Medical Center and the University of Thessaly. These two oxidative stress research groups will utilize Luoxis' proprietary RedoxSYS oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) diagnostic system to study oxidative stress markers across hypertension, hemodialysis, sepsis and physical exertion.

Western Galilee Medical Center, based in Nahariya, Israel, has Drs. Shifra Sela and Batya Kristal as Principal Investigators studying oxidation-reduction potential in hypertension and hemodialysis.

The University of Thessaly, comprising faculties of medicine, biochemistry and biotechnology in Larissa, Greece, is an institution supported by University Hospital of Larissa and focused on patient care and research, including the study of oxidative stress in critical conditions.

Drs. Maria Karapetsa, Epaminondas Zakynthinos, Dimitrios Kouretas and Dimitrios Stagos will work as PIs studying oxidation-reduction potential in sepsis and physical exertion.
