TransPerfect to merge with Vasont Systems
January 6, 2014
TransPerfect, a privately-held provider of global language services and related technologies, will merge with Vasont Systems, an industry provider of component content management system (CCMS) software and XML data services.
The combined organization will be able to offer a complete solution for global content authoring and publishing, drawing upon Vasont’s technologies and TransPerfect’s language services, GlobalLink globalization management software supporting over 170 languages and existing foothold in the component content management space through its Astoria Software division. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Pennsylvania-based Vasont will join the TransPerfect family of companies. President and CEO Richard Schiding will continue to lead the Vasont division of TransPerfect as division president.
“Vasont has an impressive record of delivering innovative, technologically advanced solutions to their clients, and it was clear to us that they value and deliver the same high level of client service that we do,” said Liz Elting, TransPerfect president and co-CEO. “Their software fits with our GlobalLink technology suite, and the integrated solution we’re now able to offer is something that will benefit our clients.”
“Our primary goal in this merger was to align with a company that allowed us to offer our clients a more robust suite of software and services to help with their creation and management of global content,” said Richard Schiding, Vasont president and CEO. “Integrating our technology with the GlobalLink suite and plugging in to TransPerfect’s vast pool of resources and service offerings creates a new world of possibilities for our clients, both current and future.”
