DPT Laboratories, a Texas-based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) with a specialized focus on semi-solid and liquid dosage forms, has acquired Meda Pharmaceuticals’ Lakewood, N.J., facilities.

The acquisition reflects the organization’s recent growth, allowing DPT to expand its footprint in Lakewood by adding two buildings totaling 90,000 square feet of space. The real estate meets the organization’s current need for additional cold storage and a larger state-of-the-art analytical laboratory.

DPT also will absorb Meda Pharmaceuticals’ employees to continue the manufacturing of MUSE, its urethral suppository product.

DPT’s current Lakewood location is one of the organization’s established Centers of Excellence, providing state-of-the-art aseptic processing suites and filling equipment for small-volume parenterals, ophthalmic preparations, preservative-free nasal sprays and sterile ointments.
