Continuum Clinical, a healthcare research and communications company, has added U.K.-based industry veteran Elaine Ferguson to its leadership team as the global practice lead, medical communications. The move expands Continuum Clinical’s Medical Communications practice, while also adding to the company’s global presence.

Continuum Clinical specializes in integrating patient recruitment and retention for clinical trials, late stage studies, health economics and outcomes research. Medical communications is a key component to facilitating the flow of information between the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare communities and stakeholders.

Ferguson most recently was the global medical communications lead for inVentiv Health, where she managed a team of more than 180 individuals across eight markets. As part of Ferguson’s 11 years at inVentiv, she founded six communications agencies in Europe and Asia, including Litmus Medical Marketing and Education—an award-winning agency in the U.K.

In addition, Ferguson’s experience spans therapeutic areas with particular emphasis in CNS and psychiatry. Ferguson will remain based in the U.K. and will coordinate Continuum Clinical’s international activities from London.
