Allergen Research, a Brisbane, Calif.-based privately held biopharmaceutical company developing desensitization treatments for food allergies, has changed its name to Aimmune Therapeutics.

As Aimmune Therapeutics, the company has introduced a new corporate identity and logo that honors its heritage while reflecting its evolution and steadfast mission: to address the urgent and growing unmet need to protect people with food allergies from the dangers of accidental exposure to their allergens.

Food allergies are a significant and growing health problem in the U.S., Europe and throughout the developed world. It is estimated that more than 30 million people in the U.S. and Europe have a food allergy.
