ClinTec International expands into South Africa

Global CRO ClinTec International has expanded with a Regional Hub Office for Sub-Saharan Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa. Aligning with new client partnerships, the office will support region wide clinical research services including a significant new clinical FSP assignment with a global biotechnology major where ClinTec is the sole FSP partner for South Africa.
ClinTec has appointed key director level positions, which are effective immediately. Dr. Fraser Smith joins ClinTec as director global quality and compliance, Jane Coward joins as of director client relations and Insook Cho as regional director, clinical operations—North Asia, based in Seoul, South Korea.
Smith, who has over 25 years’ experience within the pharma industry, joins ClinTec from PPD where he spent the past four years as executive director of clinical quality assurance for their global quality and compliance function. Additionally, Smith acted as a E.U. Qualified Person for releasing IMP and licensed pharmaceuticals for clinical trials and commercial use, prior to leading their pharmacovigilance department within the U.K.
Jane Coward is an experienced director of functional service solutions and global clinical resourcing. Jane joins ClinTec from inVentiv Health Clinical where she was globally responsible for the oversight of a variety of Strategic Resourcing solutions. Previously, Coward managed Synergy, SRG’s niche Biometric CRO after successfully running SRG’s scientific and clinical staffing divisions.
Cho has 18 years’ experience in clinical research working with CROs. Insook joins ClinTec from PPD, where she has worked for the last eight years as associate director, clinical management, with oversight of clinical operation in PPD Korea.
