Certara, a global biosimulation technology-enabled drug development company, has appointed Tristen Herrstrom to the newly-created position of senior vice president of human resources.

With responsibility for establishing the strategic direction of Certara’s ‘people management,’ Herrstrom will focus on enhancing talent acquisition, leadership development and other key growth initiatives. She will be based at Certara’s Princeton, N.J., headquarters and report to the company’s CEO Edmundo Muniz, M.D., Ph.D.

“This is an exciting time for Certara. The biosimulation and regulatory writing markets are blossoming. As a result, we are rapidly hiring talented new staff and acquiring or merging with companies whose skills and expertise enhance our own. In just over a year, more than 100 talented individuals from Synchrogenix, ClinGenuity and Quantitative Solutions have each joined our passionate and visionary team,” said Muniz.

“Now is the perfect time for Tristen to join Certara. She will help us to maximize this incredible opportunity by ensuring that we have the right staff in place and that our new colleagues feel part of our team,” he added.

Herrstrom brings 20 years of experience leading, integrating and building human resource, talent acquisition and real estate functions in healthcare and pharmaceutical service organizations.

Previously, Herrstrom was chief resource officer for QualCare Alliance Networks and before that for inVentiv Health. In those roles, she was responsible for all resource management functions, including human resources, talent acquisition, facility management and ensuring synergy in company programs, polices and practices. During her time at inVentiv Health, she successfully integrated more than 25 acquired companies.
