Irvine, Calif.-based MNX Global Logistics has opened a dedicated supply chain and logistics facility in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, just outside of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The facility, which has validated temperature-controlled supply chain capabilities, will serve as the operations and warehousing hub for the company's life sciences and medical device customers throughout Europe.

“The demand for our services particularly in biologics, cold chain and medical devices logistics in the EMEA region has been tremendous and we have seen double-digit growth in the past 12 months,” said MNX CEO and President Paul J. Martins. “Customers with the need for expertise in regulatory transport, strict adherence to chain of custody, visibility, control and security of their high-value and time-critical products are turning more and more to MNX. Our investment in this new facility in Amsterdam is testament to MNX and our private equity partner, The Riverside Company’s commitment to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of our customers.”

The new facility’s capacity exceeds 1,300 square meters with the option to expand by an additional 1,700 square meters when needed. The HACCP- and GDP-compliant facility was designed to exceed the highest standards in the handling and movement of critical biopharmaceutical, radiopharmaceutical and medical device shipments. The facility features -20 degrees Celsius, 2-8 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius temperature-controlled storage with 24/7 monitoring, backup systems and state-of-the-art security in order to ensure the constant integrity and security of  customers' temperature and high-value shipments.

“The new Life Sciences Logistics Centre in Amsterdam allows us to provide cross docking, inventory storage and transportation for our clients needing temperature sensitive control,” said MNX Senior Vice President for EMEA Jan Willem Van 't Riet. “In addition, our customers will benefit from our strict adherence to industry-wide compliance procedures and protocols and our direct-ramp access to personally deliver and retrieve critical shipments from the airlines that serve Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.”

Utilizing its own GDP-compliant facility in Amsterdam allows MNX to provide on-site trained staff, with the ability to comply with the strictest standards for packaging, inventory, cross dock, storage and transportation for its customers' shipments.
