Certara’s Mouksassi hired at UMontreal
August 31, 2015
Certara, a global biosimulation technology-enabled drug development company, has announced that director of pharmacometrics Samer Mouksassi, PharmD, Ph.D., FCP, has been appointed an associate professor in the faculty of pharmacy at the University of Montreal. Mouksassi will teach clinicians and students how biosimulation can be used to improve drug development and enhance health outcomes.
Mouksassi started his career as a clinical pharmacist in a research hospital where he led efforts to start a therapeutic drug monitoring service using Bayesian feedback. He developed population pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic models to help clinicians select the best drug doses for patients; his primary focus was on pediatrics.
He joined Certara’s Pharsight Consulting Services (PCS) in 2007 and helped its biopharm clients to apply model-based drug development to more than 100 studies. In July 2015, PCS was merged with Quantitative Solutions, a Menlo Park, Calif.-based global pharmacometrics consulting company, and became Certara Strategic Consulting.
