Melissa Mauriber to lead new Advanced Clinical program
Deerfield, Ill.-based Advanced Clinical, a full-service global CRO, functional outsourcing and strategic staffing solutions provider, has launched its new Advanced Clinical University and named Melissa Mauriber, vice president of clinical operations quality and talent development, to lead the new educational program.
Advanced Clinical University was created to respond to the need to hire and develop high-quality clinical research associates (CRAs) with key skill sets in risk-based monitoring and complex trials such as those in the areas of oncology, CNS and rare diseases. The program is designed to attract graduates with life science degrees and provide theoretical and hands-on training in the evolving role of a CRA.
Mauriber brings more than 21 years of clinical research and clinical monitoring experience to Advanced Clinical inclusive of risk-based monitoring expertise. A tenured leader, she is responsible for the development, strategy and delivery of Advanced Clinical University. Prior to joining the company, she was the executive director of clinical monitoring at a global CRO where she was responsible for the North American clinical monitoring operations.
“Advanced Clinical continually develops new and innovative ways to deliver a better clinical experience. Through this program, we will provide comprehensive training to new entrants to the clinical research community to develop future Clinical Research Associates,” said company President and CEO Leo Sheridan. “We have listened to the industry and our customers, and with the creation of Advanced Clinical University, we are responding to the growing need for high-quality CRAs to monitor complex clinical programs with competency in risked-based monitoring dynamics. We are thrilled to have Melissa on board to lead this important endeavor.”
Mauriber received her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University at University Park.
