Recipharm, a contract development and manufacturing organization, plans to cut 100 positions in the Greater Stockholm area of Sweden.

The company hopes to achieve annual savings in excess of SEK 60 million ($73 million) from headcount reductions as well as savings in external costs. There also will be efficiencies to gain from streamlining the product range and termination of less profitable contracts. Implementation costs of SEK 15 million ($18 million) are expected and will be charged to fourth-quarter 2015 results. Savings are expected to start impacting results in the first quarter of next year, with full effect beginning of 2017.

The headcount reductions are subject to negotiations with unions.
