SCRS adds Icon as global impact partner
November 9, 2015
The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), a global trade organization dedicated to representing the interests of clinical research sites, has announced a two-year relationship with Icon, a global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. Icon will participate as a global impact partner (GIP) and align with 31 other sponsors, CROs and service providers dedicated to promoting high-level communication and meaningful collaboration between industry stakeholders and clinical research sites globally.
“Icon’s relationship with SCRS reinforces their commitment to strengthening site partnerships and furthering alliance with industry stakeholders,” said Christine Pierre, SCRS president. “Collaboration with Icon is a significant strategic development for SCRS, and we are extremely pleased to welcome them as our newest GIP.”
“Building a close connection with research sites and patients is an integral part of helping our clients to take time and cost from their development programs,” said Executive Vice President of Site and Patient Recruitment at Icon Lollo Eriksson. “We are pleased to collaborate with the SCRS as a Global Impact Partner and we look forward to working with them to promote global clinical research and building patient awareness. Our partnership with SCRS, together with our work with IBM Watson Clinical Trial Matching, are examples of some of the initiatives we are working on to enhance patient recruitment and study start-up.”
As a Global Impact Partner (GIP), Icon will participate on the SCRS Global Impact Board at an executive level, and work closely with SCRS’ Leadership Council to determine strategic initiatives for SCRS.
