Dotmatics launches Spaces for research communications
May 11, 2016
Dotmatics, a provider of scientific informatics solutions and services, has launched Spaces, a web-based, scientific teamboard addition to its suite of applications. Spaces enhances communication within scientific research teams often located in multiple locations and/or companies.
Spaces provides unique ways of looking at research data compared to the traditional table or form-based views. Using proven techniques from web-based collaboration tools, Spaces allows scientists to collaborate together on existing project data and on the design and prioritization of new or proposed molecules, or biologics as a project progresses.
Available as cloud-based or on premise, Spaces is a way for scientists across the globe to communicate and work together on project data in real-time. Spaces inherits the project security of Browser, ensuring that data and access is controlled.
“Successful scientific research requires a high level of team interaction, but this has become difficult to achieve in today’s distributed environments,” said Stephen Gallagher, CEO Dotmatics. “Spaces provides a highly flexible set of interactive scientific teamboards that facilitate timely decision making, real-time communication on scientific data, and results between all members of a project team wherever they are in the world.”
Spaces enables scientists to create and organize cards that show items of interest related to their project, creating a teamboard, which can be shared with others who can add or edit existing items, or share comments. The cards types within Spaces include molecules, scientific images, recent chemical/biological registrations, project documents and status feeds, interactive molecule design widgets, recent cascade requests, inventory additions, chat, and generic windows.
