Techtrials International, a CRO company operating in U.S. and Brazil, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement for Carenet Wearables Data Aggregation Platform for Clinical Research Projects.

Techtrials will be the exclusive distributor for the Carenet Wearables Data Aggregation Platform in Clinical Research space. Carenet is a reference in integrating health data generated by wearables, health applications, smartphones and health devices. Carenet is the largest mobile health data integrator in LATAM. The two companies will work together in order to advance the use of the mobile generated health data, dramatically improving patient experience and efficiency in bringing new drugs to market.

"Techtrials is committed to providing new mobile medical technologies in clinical trials that improve patient outcome and provide clinicians with better information and an improved workflow. This will enable pharma companies, care providers and health systems to partner with us to meet their patients' needs," said Douglas Andreas Valverde, president. “Techtrials shares our commitment to clinical trials innovation and high-quality processes that help the industry in launching new products that will improve patients' lives."

Immo Paul, president of Carenet added that "digital health solutions allow companies to bring a drug to market more efficiently and cost effectively, while also improving the clinical trial participants’ experience by decreasing the number of in-person visits and the need for manual tracking of data."

By arming participants with wearables and FDA Class II medical devices, sensors and mobile applications, pharmaceutical companies can remotely collect data, along with key biometrics. One connection will give companies access to over 100 different mobile data sources.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
