BTC Network acquires Lincoln Research as second fully owned site

September 8, 2016
CenterWatch Staff

BTC Network, a fully integrated network of clinical research sites in the U.S., has expanded its site operations with the recent acquisition of Lincoln Research, a multi-specialty research practice located in Lincoln, Rhode Island. As a result of the deal, Lincoln Research will be the second site acquired by BTC Network within the start of the third quarter.

The addition of Lincoln Research illustrates BTC Network’s dedication to growth, specifically in the areas of psychiatry, neurology, pain and internal medicine. The acquisition will enable BTC Network to provide its clients with a full range of phase I-III clinical research services for specialized patient populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Lincoln Research has proven its clinical trial expertise with its board-certified principal investigators including Dr. Jim Whalen, an experienced physician with over 20 years’ experience in clinical research, and completion of nearly 300 clinical studies. Lincoln Research, which will now be BTC of Lincoln, provides BTC Network with a great opportunity to strengthen its access to relevant studies, as it is consistently a top enrolling site and premier industry leader.

Since announcing rebranding ahead of the DIA conference in Philadelphia in June 2016, BTC Network has been quickly growing its owned and affiliated site model across the US. The company, which until recently was known as BlueTheory Clinical Trials, has been experiencing significant growth through its integrated site network or PRIME Network Model, which provides exclusive relationships and centralized processes at a growing number of facilities across the U.S. The acquisition of Lincoln Research now provides BTC Network’s clients access to over twenty thousand potential patients within relevant therapeutic areas.

Alfred Peters, President of BTC Network and Vice President of ClinEdge (sister company to BTC Network), stated, “Lincoln Research highly complements BTC Network's services and capabilities. Together we are building a leading platform of research clinics across the world that will utilize BTC Network’s resources to increase the efficiency of the clinical trial process.”

“There is a very strong cultural fit between BTC Network and Lincoln Research,” stated Jim Whalen, MD of Lincoln Research. "Both companies share a dedication to scientific leadership, expansion of highly specialized services to meet the emerging needs of our clients, an uncompromising focus on quality, and a belief that our strength is in our people and the way in which they work together."
