Halloran Consulting Group, a national consultancy to life science companies of all sizes, has announced that Joanna Engelke joined the company as managing director and will work to guide Halloran clients around complex regulatory and quality challenges.
Engelke joins Halloran from Boston Scientific with deep expertise in medical device quality and regulatory matters, as well as valuable consulting expertise, from her years as a partner at Bain & Company.
“Joanna is instrumental in shifting industry perception to view quality as an intrinsic value in life science companies,” said Halloran Consulting Group CEO Laurie Halloran. “Joanna is a true leader in quality and compliance and has set the standard. Her work has focused on building quality into the culture of life science organizations. Halloran’s partners will benefit greatly from her experience, and we welcome her.”
She will work to grow Halloran’s expertise in helping life science companies of all sizes transform and restore their business and increase the visibility of services available to larger companies in this sector. Engelke was a key player in turning Boston Scientific into an industry leader in quality assurance. She is skilled in navigating intricate quality situations to resolution based on quality data that drives improvements, innovation, and impacts the bottom line.
“My time at Boston Scientific enabled me to lead efforts that made substantial change in how quality was regarded and protected in a leading medical device company. I am looking forward to the opportunity to make real and lasting changes to improve more life science companies,” said Engelke.
In addition to her leadership roles at Boston Scientific and Bain & Company, Engelke also served as Portfolio CEO at Puretech Ventures and VP and GM of specialty products at Dade Behring. Her dedication to the life science industry is evident in her recent prominent role on an FDA-sponsored initiative to build quality assurance into the medical device field. She received her MBA from Harvard Business School and her Bachelor’s degree in political science from Yale University.
"Our clients, present and future, will find great value in Joanna's experience and guidance," said Greg Dombal, COO at Halloran. “Joanna is not afraid to roll up her sleeves and delve into the work of helping companies see quality as a tool to drive transformation and growth.”
