The LifeSciences BC’s board of directors appointed Dr. Lesley Esford the new executive director of the nonprofit industry association.
Since 2006, Esford has worked as an ITA with the National Research Council—Industrial Research Assistance Program, helping over 100 entrepreneurs develop a wide array of products and services, at every stage of the innovation process, from concept to commercialization. Her career path has taken her from B.C. to Boston developing insights, observations and a broad knowledge base in human life sciences along the way.
She said, “I am very proud to be a part of LifeSciences BC’s next chapter and see before us a very compelling course with some striking initiatives well underway. We are in exciting times and I look forward to joining the journey, which I hope takes us to all parts of the world.”
James Hatton, chair, LifeSciences BC’s board of directors, said of Lesley’s appointment, “This is an exciting time for BC’s life sciences community and Lesley’s deep experience and knowledge of life sciences will serve our community well. Lesley is highly motivated and enthusiastic and we are confident that her vision and abilities will significantly benefit BC’s life sciences community. Dr. Esford’s appointment is effective immediately.
