Worldwide Clinical Trials adds William “Bill” Hirschman as head of Global Business Development
March 30, 2017
William “Bill” Hirschman has joined Worldwide Clinical Trials, a full-service CRO, as executive vice president and head of Global Business Development. Hirschman will lead Worldwide’s growing business development organization, a large global team that includes sales, sales operations and proposal development.
“At the heart of our strong and successful growth trajectory here at Worldwide is our business development team,” said Peter Benton, president and COO at Worldwide. “We selected Bill to join our leadership team because he has a proven track record of driving significant growth, while also possessing the right combination of industry expertise and experience, with the strategic mind-set to bring it all together. We’re delighted that Bill will be helping us write the next chapter in Worldwide’s story of continued success.”
“I am very excited about this opportunity,” commented Hirschman. “Worldwide’s leadership team has set forth a clear and exciting vision for the future, the market opportunity for a company like Worldwide is undeniable, and the business development organization is made up of a team of experienced, successful professionals. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.”
Hirschman’s 25-year career has included a range of leadership roles within CROs, pharmaceutical and scientific companies, where he has helped to lead efforts to take several businesses to more than $1 billion in annual sales. Most recently, Hirschman served as global vice president of Commercial Operations at Fisher Clinical Services, a company specializing in providing clinical trial supplies and logistics for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.
Prior to his time at Fisher, Hirschman managed sales, marketing and business development for the Clinical Pharmacology phase I, clinical phase II-III and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) business units of Covance. Previously, he held sales and marketing leadership roles at Genomics, IBAH (Omnicare Research Group), VWR International, and he began his career and “cut his teeth” in sales at Baxter Healthcare.
