PatientsLikeMe forms a new senior leadership team comprised of existing executives and new leaders. The team includes: Executive Vice President of Marketing, Technology and Operations Michael Evers, who joined PatientsLikeMe in 2012; George Parker, executive vice president of Human Resources since 2016; newly-appointed executive vice president of Research and Development (R&D) Jonathan White; and Monique Levy, who joined PatientsLikeMe in 2016 and has been promoted to executive vice president, Business Solutions and Partnerships. The team reports to Co-Founder and President Ben Heywood. Co-founder Jamie Heywood remains as PatientsLikeMe’s chairman and is focused on driving the company’s vision.

Jonathan White, a neurosurgeon certified by The Royal College of Surgeons of England, joins PatientsLikeMe with a 25-year history in healthcare innovation, clinical trial development, and in launching successful medical and software products. He has served in executive level IT and R&D positions at Quintiles, Haemonetics and Pfizer. White was also a past PatientsLikeMe customer and board member. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing the company’s biology, regulatory, research, and commercial product development functions.

“It’s exciting to join PatientsLikeMe at a moment when we are embarking on a bold new chapter to bring a data and artificial intelligence-based approach to personalized health to answer a new set of questions for patients,” White said. “The sharing of knowledge and access to new types of knowledge will continue to be a powerful force for individuals and industry alike.”

Monique Levy said that in her year working with PatientsLikeMe’s life sciences clients, she has seen a deepening commitment to using patient experience as a guide in discovery, development, and on market activities. “I have a lifelong goal to ensure patient needs are reflected in the healthcare system, and it’s been energizing to find like-minded partners. Now technology will help us make even greater leaps forward. I’m excited to continue to work with our partners toward a patient-centered future.”

Ben Heywood said that the team has coalesced as the company prepares to deliver new information and tools that will help patients not just live with disease, but thrive. “We have an incredibly experienced and motivated team focused on accelerating our ability to do what’s essential—empower patients with the personalized health information that can improve their outcomes, and their lives.”

Heywood added that Martin Coulter, CEO of PatientsLikeMe for the past four years, has left the company. “Martin led us through a period of significant growth and expansion, and set the foundation for our recent strategic partnership with iCarbonX. PatientsLikeMe is in a strong position to provide increasing value, and we’re deeply grateful for his service.”
