Sprint Bioscience has announced the appointment of Jessica Martinsson as acting chief executive officer after the resignation of founder Anders Åberg. Martinsson, the co-founder of Sprint Bioscience, most recently served as operational manager.

Sanjay Murdeshwar has been named vice chairman and managing director of Novartis India. Murdeshwar was previously country president, Novartis India, and managing director of Novartis Healthcare Private Ltd.

Michael Vasconcelles has been appointed chief medical officer at Flatiron Health, effective August 2019. Vasconcelles most recently served as chief medical officer at Unum Therapeutics.

Unum Therapeutics

Unum Therapeutics Inc. has announced new additions to its leadership team. Matthew Osborne is joining as chief financial officer, Jessica Sachs will become chief medical officer and Mert Aktar has been appointed to the newly created role of head of business and corporate development. Osborne was most recently vice president of corporate affairs, communications and investor relations at Voyager Therapeutics. Sachs had been serving as vice president of clinical sciences at Unum since 2017. Aktar was previously global head of hematology and immunology business development at Shire, now Takeda.

SCYNEXIS

Nkechi Azie has been appointed vice president of clinical development at SCYNEXIS. Azie was previously senior vice president of medical affairs at The Medicines Company.

Riffyn

Riffyn has named John Conway as chief commercial officer of the cloud software and data analytics company. Conway was formerly global head of data sciences and AI IT at AstraZeneca.

Veravas

Joshua Soldo has been named chief scientific officer and Carmen Wiley as chief clinical officer at Veravas. Soldo held roles in cardiac-focused medical and scientific affairs at Roche Diagnostics and was also vice president of scientific affairs at Anteo Diagnostics. Wiley was a regional manager of scientific affairs at Roche Diagnostics. She currently is the president of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry.

Ergomed

Richard Barfield has been named chief financial officer at Ergomed. Barfield was formerly the chief financial officer at Chiltern.

Theravance Biopharma

Theravance Biopharma has named Andrew Hindman as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Hindman was previously chief business officer of Acorda Therapeutics.

Cofactor Genomics

Steven Daniel has been appointed as vice president of business development at Cofactor Genomics. Daniel was most recently senior director of applied sciences and business development at ArcherDX.

Smiths Medical

Smiths Group has appointed JehanZeb Noor as chief executive officer of Smiths Medical, a current subsidiary of Smiths Group, effective July 1. Noor will oversee the separation of Smiths Medical, which is expected to be completed next year. Noor currently is the vice president and general manager, healthcare, and global synergies leader with Amcor.

N8 Medical

N8 Medical has named Marc Rohman chief executive officer. Rohman previously led North American operations at a private French pharmaceutical company, Biocodex.

BD Biosciences

Puneet Sarin has been named worldwide president of BD Biosciences. Sarin was formerly the senior vice president and general manager of the chemistry and immunoassay business unit at Beckman Coulter.

Recursion

Utah-based Recursion has announced the appointment of Sharath Hegde as chief scientific officer. Hegde was previously the senior vice president and head of research at Theravance Biopharma.

Bentec Medical

JG Singh has been named chief executive officer at California-based Bentec Medical. Singh was most recently the vice president of sales and marketing with Gold Standard Diagnostics.
