Trial Information
Summary: An Investigational drug for Children with Acquired Attentional Disorders Following Completion of Chemotherapy for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia
A Double-Blind, Placebo Controlled Trial for the Management of
Chemotherapy-Related Acquired Attentional Disorders in Children who
have Survived Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL)
We are currently conducting a research study for children and
adolescents with chemotherapy-related acquired attentional
disorders. Children and adolescents who survive ALL may experience
school-related problems; specifically deficits in attention,
reaction time, visual-motor coordination, memory and
distractibility.
To be eligible to participate, your adolescent
must:
- Be 6-18 years of age and weigh at least 44 pounds
- Have successfully completed treatment for ALL and are currently
1-year disease free as judged by the investigators
- Meet the criteria for attention deficit symptoms that have been
precipitated by chemotherapy-related neurological injury
- Must be able to swallow tablets
All study related clinic visits, testing, and study medications
are provided at no cost.
