Trial Information

Summary: NSABP Protocol C-10: A Phase II Trial of 5-Fluorouracil, Leucovorin, and Oxaliplatin (mFOLFOX6) Chemotherapy Plus Bevacizumab for Patients with Unresectable Stage IV Colon Cancer and a Synchronous Asymptomatic Primary Tumor

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have cancer of the colon that has metastasized which means it has spread outside the colon.  The extent of cancer that has spread outside of the colon is too much to be safely removed at this time.  The purpose of this study is to find out whether or not a combination of chemotherapy drugs, 5-Fluorouracil, Leucovorin, And Oxaliplatin (Mfolfox6) Chemotherapy Plus Bevacizumab, is safe when given to subjects who have not had their colon tumors removed by surgery and to see if major surgery to remove the tumor in colon can be safely avoided.  Your participation on this study is expected to last 6 to 12 months.  Even if you stop treatment earlier, the researchers would like to keep track of your medical condition for 1 to 5 years from the time you enter this study.
