Summary: Complicated Skin and Skin Structure Infections

People with a complicated skin infection (bacterial infection which is resistant to antibiotics) are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Southbay Pharma Research.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

• Are Male or female at least 18 years of age
• Have an open skin wound such as an ulcer, burn, major abscess, or deep cellulitis
• The open wound is infected. Signs of infection include; drainage, swelling, heat, pain, and fever.

You may not participate in this study if you:

• Your skin wound is caused by diabetes, animal bite, or gangrene.
• Have received an organ transplant within the past 6 months
• Are pregnant, nursing, or intend to become pregnant during the study
• Have participated in another research study within the last 30 days
