Trial Information

Summary: The Relationship Between Coping, Gender and Psychological Adaptation in People with Lung Cancer

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you are an adult who has been treated or is receiving treatment for lung cancer at City of Hope. The purpose of this study is to learn more about the impact of lung cancer on a person's psychological well-being (e.g., mood) and quality of life. In addition, because relatively little is known about psychological responses to lung cancer and the supportive care needs of men and women diagnosed with lung cancer, we would like to obtain information that might improve our ability to provide psychological care for lung cancer patients. Your participation in this study will include answering a questionnaire that takes approximately one hour to complete. After completing this questionnaire you will be asked to indicate whether you are willing to complete a second, shorter, questionnaire (taking approximately 20 - 30 minutes to complete) that we would like to mail to you in approximately 3 months, as well as the address to which we should send the questionnaire. The follow-up questionnaire contains a portion of the questions included in the first questionnaire. If you are willing, we will send you similar questionnaires every 3 months for up to 3 years.
