Trial Information
Summary: An Investigational, Injectable Medication for People with Severe Persistent Asthma
Health Sciences Research Center is conducting a research study
to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of an investigational,
injectable medication for patients with severe persistent
symptomatic asthma.
You may participate in this study if you:
- are 18 years and older,
- have had a diagnosis of asthma for greater than 3 years,
- have been diagnosed with severe, persistent asthma for at least
a year,
- received continuous treatment with inhaled steroid and
long-acting bronchodilators,
- have had two occasions of worsening asthma requiring steroids
in the past year.
You cannot participate in this study if you:
- have cystic fibrosis or any other significant respiratory
disorder,
- have smoked more than a pack a day for greater than 10
years,
- have had an asthma attack requiring intubation or cardiac
support within 6 months,
- are pregnant or nursing,
- have an uncontrolled disease.
Qualified participants receive:
- Study visits, study medication and related exams are provided
at no cost.
- Compensation for time and travel.
