Trial Information

Summary: A Phase III randomized, placebo-controlled study of sorafenib in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma

The purpose of this study is to test if a new drug, sorafenib, is an effective treatment for patients with liver cancer. Patients qualify for participation in this study because they have advanced liver (hepatocellular) cancer (HCC) that cannot be removed by surgery. Sorafenib is designed to stop the growth of cancer cells. The study is considered research because the study drug, sorafenib, has not been approved by the FDA.
This is a placebo-controlled study. In this study, neither the patients or the study doctor will know if patients are receiving sorafenib or a placebo (a pill with no active medication).
All study medications and procedures are provided for free.

No Compensation Provided
