Summary: Do you suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
Dennis Riff MD, FACG of Advanced Clinical Research Institute is
conducting a clinical research trial of an investigational
medication for people who suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Qualified participants will receive all study-related exams,
endoscopy, and investigational medication at no cost and may be
compensated for their time and travel expenses.
To qualify you must:
- The study patient is between the ages of 18 to 70 years
old.
- The patient is an ambulatory patient (defined as not depending
on a wheel chair for mobility.
- The patient has been previously diagnosed with IBS according to
the Rome II criteria: Presence of abdominal pain or discomfort for
at least 12 weeks (not necessarily consecutively) out of the
preceding year with at least 2 out of the 3 following features:
- Relief with defecation
- Onset associated with a change in stool frequency
- Onset associated with a change in stool
consistency
Patients 50 years of age and older must have normal results from
a colonoscopy, or a barium enema plus flexible sigmoidoscopy within
5 years prior to screening.
