Summary: Clinical Studies of Patients with Paraneoplastic Neurologic Disorders

We are studying patients with paraneoplastic neurologic disorders (The Hu syndrome, a.k.a. Paraneoplastic Subacute Sensory Neuropathy/Encephalomyelitis or Limbic Encephalopathy, and The Ri Syndrome, a.k.a. Paraneoplastic Opsoclonus-Myoclonus Ataxia) in two IRB-approved protocols at the Rockefeller University Clinical Research Center. One study is aimed at furthering our understanding of the cause of these disorders, and a second is a treatment protocol based on our laboratory studies.

All patients with paraneoplastic neurologic disorders are eligible, including patients with:

  • Paraneoplastic Cerebellar Degeneration
  • The Hu Syndrome
    • Paraneoplastic Subacute Sensory Neuropathy/Encephalomyelitis
    • Limbic Encephalopathy
  • Paraneoplastic Opsoclonus-Myoclonus Ataxia (The Ri Syndrome)
