Trial Information
Summary: Breast Cancer Study CFEM345DUS59
Novartis Oncology is conducting this clinical trial to evaluate whether participants who are intolerant and discontinue anastrozole (Arimidex®) due to arthralgia-myalgia (joint or muscle pain) have a decrease in rheumatological symptoms while taking the drug letrozole (Femara®). Letrozole (Femara®) is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of breast cancer and is already available for sale in the U.S.
Participants will be required to discontinue any use of the drug anastrozole at least 2 to 3 weeks prior to starting the study. Participants will then be required to take 2.5 mg of the drug letrozole (Femara®) each day for 24 weeks (6 months).
