Summary: The effect of increased genioglossus muscle activity on the pharyngeal critical closing pressure
Research Studies Seeking Volunteers
Men and Women with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Needed For an Overnight Sleep Study.
Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston seeks healthy 18 to 65 year old
men and women with previously diagnosed and treated Obstructive Sleep
Apnea to participate in a research study investigating upper airway
muscles and the influence of carbon dioxide. The study involves one
overnight stay in our sleep physiology lab. You will have your muscles in
your mouth monitored while you are awake and sleep. You will be given
carbon dioxide to breathe in order to increase your breathing while awake
and asleep. You will receive $150-$300 payment for participation.
