Trial Information
Summary: Urinary Symptoms Due To Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH) - Adults
People with Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH) (enlarged prostate) are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by North Shore-LIJ Health System.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Are at least 50 years of age
- Have been diagnosis with BPH
You may not participate in this study if you:
- Have a history of prostate cancer
- Have had prior prostate or bladder surgery, pelvic surgery (except hernia repair), pelvic radiation or lower urinary tract malignancy (cancer)
- Have been diagnosed with acute or chronic prostatitis or chronic pelvic pain syndrome
- Have had a urinary tract infection, catheterization, cystoscopy, or prostate biopsy within the past 4 weeks
- Have a history of narrowing of the urethra, bladder stones, frequent urination, blood in urine, or urinary retention
- Have a positive drug screen result
- Have any serious medical condition such as diabetes, psychiatric disorder, drug or alcohol abuse
- Have received any of the following: ozarelix, cetrorelix, tevarelix or degarelix
- Have participated in another research study within the last 90 days
