Summary: Impaired Glucose Tolerance in Post-Menopausal Women
This is a research study of an approved medication for post-menopausal women with impaired glucose tolerance (pre-diabetes). The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effect of the study drug on bone density and metabolism. The study last approximately 19 months with about 8 visits to the Longmont Clinic. The physician in charge of this study is David Podlecki, M.D.
Criteria to participate:
- Age 70 or less
- At least 5 years post-menopausal
- Have impaired fasting blood sugar
- Generally healthy
The study provides:
- All study related or required exams including physicals, bone density testing, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests
- Study medication
- Compensation for time and travel
