Summary: Do you suffer from Type I or Type II Diabetes and Mild COPD? Men and women, 18 to 70 years of age, with mild COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and Type I or Type II diabetes may qualify to be a participant in a research study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of inhaled Insulin.
The Billings Clinic Research Center is seeking individuals with mild COPD and Type I or Type II diabetes to participate in a research study involving the safety and effectiveness of an investigation inhaled insulin. If you qualify, study-related examinations and study-related medications are provided at no cost to you. You may even be compensated for your participation.
Patient Inclusion Criteria
Men and women-18 to 70 years old; nonsmoker; clinical diagnosis of Type I or Type II diabetes for 12 months and no change in anti-diabetic regiment for at least 90-days; clinical diagnosis of obstructive lung disease.
Patient Exclusion Criteria
Treatment with supplemental oxygen therapy, room air oxygen saturation, 94% or history of intubation or ICU admission for respiratory illness in the past 5 years; greater than 2 hospitalizations or ER visits or required greater than 3 courses of systemic steroid in the past 12 months for respiratory illness.
