Trial Information
Summary: Patients with Mild to Moderate Alzheimer's Disease who are APO-E4 non-carriers.
We are currently recruiting patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's Disease for a Clinical trail involving a study drug called Bapineuzumab. Bapineuzuab has not yet been approved by the FDA.
Subjects will be asked to participate in the study for aproximately 18 months, with 15 study visits during that time. Subjects must have a caregiver who can accompany them to all study visits.
Patient Inclusion Criteria
- Male or Female age 50<89
- Diagnosis of probably Alzheimer's Disease
- Has a caregiver who can visits with the subject at least 5 days per week and would be willing accompany them to the study site and for all study visits.
- Willing to undergo ApoE testing and agree to disclosure of the results.
- Non-carrier of the ApoE4 allele according to genetic tests.
PatientExclusionCriteria
- ApoE4 carrier
- Does not have a caregiver who can accompany the subject to the study site and for all study visits.
Primary Outcomes
To demonstrate and advantage of th efficacy of multiple doses of IV administered bapineuzumab in patients with mild to moderate AD over placebo.
Key Secondary Outcomes
To demonstrate an advantage of the effect of multiple doses of IV administered bapineuzumab in patients with mild to moderate AD over placebo on additional cognitive and global measures.
