Trial Information

Summary: Children over 10 years of age with ALL Leukemia sought for research study.

UVa Health System, Cancer Center seeks children 10 years or older with high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (leukemia in the central nervous system [brain and spinal cord]) for a research study.

The rate of survival continues to improve for children and adolescents with High Risk ALL. However, leukemia in the central nervous system (CNS) (brain and spinal cord) has become an increasing cause of treatment failure. This study will use an established chemotherapy regimen that has been very effective for treating children and adolescents with High Risk ALL and will test whether two different changes to the treatment can cure more patients.

ParPParticipants who elect to have the tumors surgically removed may also qualify for this study.

There is no compensation available for participation in this research study.
