Trial Information

Summary: Phase 3 trial evaluating Treatment with intravenous Bapineuzumab vs. Placebo for Alzheimer's disease

Patients will be randomly assigned to different doses of the study drug or placebo. Patients will be given an IV infusion over one hour approximately once every 13 weeks with monitoring visits every alternating 13 weeks. Study participation lasts approximately 83 weeks.

Patient Inclusion Criteria

  • 50-88 years of age
  • caregiver capable of accompanying the patient on all clinic visits
  • willing to undergo ApoE testing
  • willing to undergo MRI scanning

Patient Exclusion Criteria

  • history of seizures
  • abnormal MRI (other than AD MRI)
  • history of stroke
  • prsence of pacemaker, aneurysm clip, artificial heart valves, ear implants, CSF shunts, claustrophobia
