Summary: A Randomized, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled Study of AGI-003 (Arverapamil) in the Treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea (IBS-D)

A 14 week, double-blind study using Verapamil R for treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea. All subjects will need to complete dialy diary entries by phone in conjunction with office visits to the site.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • 18 - 70 years old
  • DIARRHEA predominant with symptoms for at least the past 3 months

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Cardiovascular disease where treatment with Verapamil is contraindicated
  • Celiac disease, acute diverticulitis or duodenal ulcers
  • Barrett’s or grade 3 esophagitis
  • Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis or severe GERD
