Trial Information
Summary: Chronic Kidney Disease
This study is being done to evaluate the safety and effects of the combination of Crestor® (rosuvastatin calcium) and a experimental drug on people with stage 3 chronic kidney disease and Dyslipidemia (a condition where the fats in your blood (lipids, cholesterol) are not in balance).
Study drug and study procedures will be made available to you at no cost.
To qualify, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be willing to observe the diet recommended by a local registered dietitian
You will not qualify if you:
- Are pregnant or breast-feeding
- Have had a heart attack, coronary bypass surgery, or angioplasty within the last 6 months
- Have unstable angina pectoris or uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmias with the last 3 months
- Have Type I diabetes mellitus or have a history of diabetic ketoacidosis or uncontrolled Type II diabetes mellitus
- Have a history of gastric surgery, weight loss surgery, pancreatitis or gallbladder disease
- Have hepatitis B or C or hepatic cirrhosis
- Have received a solid organ transplant
- Have HIV
- Have Asian ancestry (having Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese or Asian-Indian origin)
