Summary: Understanding Comorbidity in Patients with Colon Cancer

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you are age 65 or older and have recently been diagnosed with colon cancer and you have a history of one or more of the following conditions: stroke, knee or hip arthritis, hip fracture, heart failure, prior heart attack, heart disease, lung disease, circulation problems, kidney disease, diabetes, different cancer, and depression. The purpose of this study is to help researchers to better predict which patients are at risk for complications from their cancer treatment. This study does not involve any cancer treatment. Researchers will be asking questions as part of a survey form, as well as checking some blood tests results, and reviewing parts of the medical records. Your duration on this study is expected to last approximately one year. After your participation on this study is over, your medical condition will continue to be followed indefinitely.
