Summary: Mild to Moderate Alzheimer's disease
We are conducting a clinical research study for volunteers diagnosed with probable Alzheimer's disease that have a reliable caregiver to be involved in the study. This study tests the safety and effectiveness of 3 doses of an investigational drug compared to placebo. This study lasts 83 weeks with 15 visits and you will receive 6 infusions every 13 weeks. The investigational drug is aimed at slowing the progression of the disease.
Study Criteria:
- Age 50-88
- Diagnosed with probable Alzheimer's (mild to moderate)
- Living at home or in a community dwelling with a caregiver willing to accompany the patient to all visits
- Stable doses of medications for 30 days
- Willing to undergo ApoE testing and agree to disclose of ApoE4 status
- No other significant neurological disease other than Alzheimer's, that may affect cognition
- No history of clinically evident stroke or seizures
- Weight must be less than 264lbs
- Cannot have donated blood within the last 90 days
- No excessive smoking (>20 per day)
- No women of childbearing potential
- Must be able to have MRI scan
- No heart attack within 2 years or cancer within 5 years
- No history of alcohol or drug abuse within the last 2 years
- No investigational drug within the last 60 days
If eligible, you will receive investigational drug and study-related medical care at no cost. Reimbursement for time and travel may also be available
