Trial Information
Summary: A Pilot Study of Safety and Feasibility of Stem Cell Therapy for Aids Lymphoma Using Stem Cells Treated with a Lentivirus Vector-Encoding Multiple Anti-HIV RNAs
You have been
asked to participate in this research study because you have AIDS
and because you also have a lymphoma. The purpose of this study is to determine
whether genes that inhibit (slow down or stop) HIV in laboratory
studies can be put into previously harvested hematopoietic stem
cells (immature cells that can become blood cells) and whether
these cells can then be transplanted back as part of lymphoma
treatment. Another
objective is to evaluate the safety of this procedure. Your
treatment on this study will last approximately two
months. After your
treatment on this study is over, your medical condition will be
followed as part of this research for up to 15
years.
