Summary: RTOG 0615: A Phase II Study of Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy Using Three-Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT) or Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) + Bevacizumab (BV) for Locally or Regionally Advanced Nasopharyngeal Cancer
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have nasopharyngeal cancer. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of adding investigational treatment with bevacizumab to standard treatment with intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and chemotherapy (cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil) to treat nasopharyngeal cancer. The study will also evaluate metastasis (spread) of cancer to other parts of the body in subjects given this treatment. Your treatment on this study is expected to last for a total of about 9-10 months. After your treatment on this study is over, your medical condition will be followed in clinic visits at the end of Stage 1, at the end of Stage 2, halfway through Stage 3, at the end of 1 year, every 3 months during year 2 and every 6 months during years 3-6.
