Summary: The Effects of Rosiglitazone on Cognition in Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).

The UCLA Alzheimer Disease Center is looking for individuals with memory loss (MCI) to participate in a 20-month research study. The purpose of this study is to determine if improving the way insulin works to regulate blood sugar helps to improve memory in people with memory loss.

Study participation may involve:

  • 12 study visits at UCLA
  • Memory Tests
  • Laboratory Tests
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • May receive study medication (Rosiglitazone) or an inactive substance.

Patient Inclusion Criteria

  • Have memory loss
  • Age 55 or older
