Summary: Adult African American subjects with asthma

We are asking African Americans with Asthma to participate in a clinical research study being conducted by Montefiore Medical Center.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

• Are male or female at least 18 years of age and African American
• Have a history of asthma

You may not participate in this study if you:

• Have required treatment with systemic corticosteroids within the last 30 days
• Had a malignancy (except basil cell carcinoma) within the past 5 years
• Have a planned hospitalization during the study
• Have taken Xolair for any reason within the last 90 days
• Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant during the study
• Have participated in another research study within the last 30 days
