Summary: Adults with Kidney Disease sought for research study
UVa Health Systems Division of Nephrology (Kidney Center) seeks women and men who have stage 4 or 5 Kidney Disease or who are on hemodialysis to participate in a research study.
The purpose of the study is to see if an experimental drug called MK-0677, can increases Growth Hormone levels in those with decreased kidney function.
This study involves taking MK-0677 or a placebo (an inactive substance) and having blood drawn. Five study visits over about 3 months are required. [When possible, study procedures for dialysis patients will be done on regular dialysis days.]
Study-related exams, tests and experimental medication provided free of charge.
§ Compensation for study completion is $175.
