Products and Services

    Premier’s Clinical Research Services is not a contract research organization or a site management organization. Its major function is to facilitate relationships between clinical trial hosts (providers) and manufacturers.

    Clinical Research Services provides a wealth of in-depth, current information, via the Internet — from alternative research funding sources and drugs in development to collaborative efforts in research. It also provides manufacturers and principal investigators an invaluable opportunity to jointly explore alternative uses for approved drugs.

    Clinical Research Services' mission is to improve the health of communities by assisting in the timely application and development of new therapies, procedures and devices to improve patient care. Therefore, the Clinical Research Services program should become the preferred source for clinical trial knowledge

    Clinical Research Services helps streamline the selection and placement of company-sponsored clinical research at facilities with the experience necessary to conduct specific clinical trials. Using its Clinical Trial Index, the program has the ability to match investigational products to institutions based on clinical specialty, research facility experience and capabilities.

    It is a service that clearly benefits both members and business partners.

    By participating in Premier’s Clinical Research Services, member hospitals and healthcare systems immediately expand their access to the companies conducting clinical trials.

    Benefits of participation include:

    • Promotion of Premier facilities and their research expertise;
    • Notification of studies based on clinical trial experience and clinical specialty;
    • The ability to offer new therapies to patients;
    • Coordination of activities with other Premier institutions engaged in research;
    • Creation of a seamless clinical trial placement process;
    • Develop and maintain a highly interactive relationship with clinical research director and critical thought-leaders within the Premier membership;
    • Revenue enhancement

    In turn, Premier business partners that participate in the clinical trial index benefit from:

    • Access to a robust information that is accurate and reliable;
    • A single point of contact for site identification and selection;
    • Identification of acceptable facilities and investigators capabilities throughout the country;
    • Quick identification and access to key research personnel within Premier institutions;
    • Creation of a seamless clinical trial placement process;
    • Dedicated staff serving as a liaison between Premier business partners and Premier member institutions to assist in tracking timeliness and performance in a trial;
    • Cost-effective and efficient identification of clinical trial sites

    Clinical Research Services continues to aggressively pursue trial placement opportunities and commit to relationship management with members and sponsors.

    In addition, we have implemented a Web site to provide valuable and timely resources for healthcare organizations to tap into the vast network for pharmaceutical and devices research.

    Some of the programs available through the site include:

    • E-mail discussion list — This listserv provides clinical research professionals and Premier employees with an e-mail and web-based forum for discussion of clinical research issues and share knowledge and experiences.
    • Alternative research funding sources — This new resource provides comprehensive information about non-industry alternatives for research funding and guides members through the application process. Features include funding notification system, general research tools and application forms. Additionally, important links to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), and other federal agencies are provided.
    • Drugs in development - Direct link with Premier's pipeline database service.
    • Collaborative efforts in research. This resource provides a valuable opportunity to put manufacturers and principal investigators in touch with each other as they explore alternative uses for approved drugs.
    • Links (coming soon)
