Scripps Clinic is a primary care and multi-specialty outpatient clinic, one of the oldest and largest in the United States. Since its inception in 1924, Scripps has been dedicated to excellence in patient care, biomedical research and continuing medical education. While the Clinic is particularly well known for specialized diagnostics and treatment, primary care is an integral component of our range of services at each location. Scripps Clinic has conducted clinical trials for nearly all of the major pharmaceutical companies as well as for many biotechnology firms. Scripps Clinic has over 50 full-time clinical trial coordinators, more than half of them Certified Clinical Research Coordinators, all highly motivated and well trained.

Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines is the main facility and consists of Scripps Green Hospital and the Anderson Outpatient Pavilion. Located in scenic La Jolla, the Torrey Pines facility is next to the world-famous Scripps Research Institute and is bordered by the Torrey Pines golf course and the Pacific Ocean. Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines is located ½ mile west of Interstate 5 and is easily accessible by car and well served by public transportation. La Jolla is approximately 15 miles from Lindbergh Field, the San Diego International Airport.

• Identifying Bladder Origin Pelvic Pain/ Interstitial Cystitis in Gynecologic Patients and their Treatment with Pentosan Polysulfate (Elmiron) vs. placebo. This is a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of pentosan polysulfate (Elmiron) for the treatment of chronic pelvic pain in women. This is a four-month study requiring three office visits.
