ActivMed Practices & Research is a registered woman owned company. Our staff has experience working in the field of clinical research. The CEO has 18 years of clinical research experience, and her staff and physicians all have 2-16 years working in clinical trials.

Our company offers multi-specialty network of research physicians and psychiatrists using highly trained coordinators and individual private physician practices. Our providers are dedicated to providing exceptional treatment to their patients following Good Clinical Practice.

We are committed to assuring that all clinical trial protocols are performed with the utmost attention to detail. ActivMed, Inc. is in a position to participate in Phase I,II,III, IIIb and IV clinical trials on an inpatient and outpatient basis. All staff is trained in GCP/ICH, FDA, HIPAA, Belmont Report, and IATA. CPR Certificates are always kept up to date.

We have tremendous access to patients; therefore, we pride ourselves in the ability to quickly recruit subjects for our trials, while keeping up with the latest GCP/ICH guidelines. We work full time at our job and that makes all the difference. Our area physician providers have active practices in Northern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.

We can use central IRB’s and have a standard 2 week turn around time for contracts.

Our location is 4000 square feet overlooking the Merrimac River.

We have a large waiting area, 3 exam rooms, 2 consenting rooms, lab area with drawing stations, -20 & -70 freezers, centrifuges, refrigerated centrifuges, locked study drug storage, 2 ECG's, Storage space, monitors room area with copier and computer hookups/wireless.

CRF room, study coordinator's room with lots of EDC, reg prep and contract room, kitchen area, and physician space.

Activmed also has access to the following ancillary services provided by nearby hospitals (1 mile from site):

• Bone Density: Lunar & Hologic
• Spirometry

Phase One Unit:

We have a 10 bed phase I unit that is located about 1 mile away. This unit is within the hospital and meets all the requirements of GCP/ICH. We are able to use a commercial IRB for approval.

Our study coordinators and physicians all have privileges at the hospital.

We have priority scheduling for all clinical trial procedures.

CMO and Medical Director:
Dr .Chun completed his training and residency at Ohio State and Boston City Hospital. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as the National Board of Medical Examiners. He has over 3 years working in clinical research trials. Dr. Chun also serves as a consultant for Lawrence Health Centers.

Psychiatric Medical director:
Marc Shay MD has been working in the field of psychiatry for 12 years. His research experience covers the last 7 years. He serves as a primary investigator and protocol reviewer for all psychiatric clinical trials at our office. Marc Shay MD completed his training and residency at Holy Cross and Chicago Medical School.

Internal Medicine Advisor:
Michael McCartney MD completed his training and residency at Brown University. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has 16 years of clinical research experience.

ActivMed trains our highly motivated staff to excel in patient care as well as all aspects of clinical research. Each coordinator is encouraged to take the ACRP national certification exam while ActivMed covers the costs of the exam. All of our coordinator’s have a medical background with clinical experiences such as nursing, laboratory, medical assisting and bioscience. Each coordinator is tested yearly on their clinical skills. Documentation of training is recorded in our staff training logs and office SOP’s. Research experience in years expands from 2 years to 14 years. Our Spanish speaking staff welcomes the Hispanic Community.

ActivMed is located north of Boston, in historic Haverhill which is considered a HubZone. We have the ability to draw from both suburban and rural communities. Our patient base covers a diverse population based on age, gender and cultural backgrounds (65% - Caucasian, 35% - Hispanic and Black). We are a bilingual facility (speaking both English and Spanish). Recruitment is accomplished through the use of one-to-one communication, multi-media advertising campaigns and established data bases.

ACTIVMED cooperates effectively with Central IRB's approved by the State of Massachusetts. Our hospitals allow the use of Central IRB's for approval with local Hospital notification of approval of protocols.
