Facility Description
Radiant Research | Minneapolis, was established by James H. Zavoral, M.D. in 1992 as an expansion of his private practice, Preventive Cardiology. Naturally the site focused on research studies that were affecting Dr. Zavoral's patients, particularly studies for high cholesterol, high blood pressure and coronary artery disease. Over the years, Radiant Research Minneapolis enjoyed tremendous growth and now boasts a dedicated research staff of 20 and a patient database of 6,000. Although the site remains rooted as a frontrunner in cardiology research studies, the addition of an endocrinologist and several internal medicine physicians has significantly broadened the site's spectrum of clinical trials.

Investigator Experience
James H. Zavoral, MD, Medical Director, has conducted clinical trials since 1987 and has earned international recognition for his achievements in lipid and obesity research. His specialty is Preventive Cardiology. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota and has published over 45 original scientific articles in a number of peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Zavoral has toured extensively, speaking on lipid management, weight management and hypertension. He is a past-president of the Minnesota American Heart Association.
Staff Expertise
Radiant Research Minneapolis combines the expertise of three family practice physicians, an endocrinologist, a cardiologist, and a site director. The center's six clinical research coordinators, two of whom are RNs, have over 100 years of combined experience. The study management team also includes a receptionist, a regulatory specialist, a recruitment specialist, a registered dietitian, a phlebotomist, and three research assistants.
